A Pocket Forest is a densely-planted, multilayered, multi-species forest community small enough to fit in the space of a couple of parking spots.
Pocket Forests grow rapidly and reconnect fragmented habitats, accumulate carbon, reduce water runoff, create healthy soil, and foster biodiversity. They provide the foundation for an abundance of life. They are a fantastic tool for managing un- or under-used land spaces, turning them into low-maintenace, mini wildlife zones.
This is such an amazingly simple idea!
Here's a self-guided presentation.
DIY'ers - let me help you make a plan, share process tips, and/or coordinate shared bulk orders to maximize your budget.
Or, let me plan & plant it for you! I can help you with selecting a location and sizing the project. I'll order the saplings for you and handle the the first 2 years of maintenance until the forest is ready to take care of itself.
I'd be happy to discuss coordinated efforts or pro bono community projects as well.
